09-23-14 Mayor Speaks to 3rd Grade Classes

Chestnut Mountain Elementary School teacher Dana Walker invites Mayor Mike Miller out to speak to the 3rd grade classes as they learn about local, state and federal governments.

The discussion included topics such as the three branches of government, the differences in job responsibilities between a Mayor, the Governor and the President, perks of the job and salaries. The kids asked many great questions and were perplexed to find out the Mayor only made $6,000 a year and drove a Honda Accord! The kids thought the Mayor was rich and rode around in a limo all day.

Thank you Ms. Walker for your hospitality and for doing such a great job teaching our youth!!
